HEART: Health, Equity And Respect in the Team

Due to the rapid pace of digital transformation in the workplace, young employees have become especially vulnerable to online mobbing.

As the first generation to fully enter a digitized work environment, many are navigating unspoken rules, unclear boundaries, and new forms of communication—all while facing pressure to prove themselves. This makes them more exposed to subtle forms of exclusion, manipulation, or harassment that often go unnoticed or unaddressed.

Unfortunately, many organizations have unknowingly adopted bad digital practices that enable or even encourage online mobbing. These can include toxic communication styles, a lack of accountability in digital channels, a workplace culture that values speed over empathy, unequal treatment to employees, exclusion, digital tools used for overcontrol, etc. As a result, online mobbing is becoming normalized, accepted, and dangerously invisible—especially in virtual spaces where oversight is limited.

To counteract this growing problem, we are actively working on the creation of innovative learning resources designed to raise awareness, challenge harmful norms and promote healthier digital work environments. Our focus is especially on empowering young professionals—helping them recognize the signs of online mobbing, understand their rights, and develop the confidence and skills needed to defend themselves and support others.

Together, we can break the silence, shift the culture, and build workplaces where every voice is respected and protected, both online and offline.
